The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) is a knowledge only award for those who require a theoretical overview and understanding of internal quality assurance (IQA) in their workplace but who are not carrying out quality assurance themselves. This might be people such as experienced assessors or centre managers, HR or quality assurance personnel.

Entry Requirements

In order to complete this qualification candidates must: 

  • Be a minimum of 18 years old 
  • Take an initial assessment of their literacy, mathematics and ICT skills
  • Have experience of assessing.

Delivery and Assessment

This qualification has a minimum of 20 guided learning hours and is delivered as a 1 day classroom based induction day followed by:

  • Self study assignments
  • On-going online support.

Assessment is through:

  • Written answers to questions
  • Professional discussion.

Course Details

  • Cost:

    £200 + VAT (£240.00) per delegate.

  • Duration: 0830 - 1630 hours.

This qualification provides candidates with the understanding of the principles of internal quality assurance and have the knowledge to support assessors in their workplace. 

Candidates must achieve one mandatory unit:

  • Unit 401: Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment.
